To give a feel for that, we use 3 meter dishes and 400 watt TWT amps at Ku Band to just get a sparklie free video picture on a GE K2 transponder (the most senstive in our footprint). That's a hell of an ERP for most amateurs to think about generating. For Shuttle, just say the phonetics of your callsign. For istance, Kilo Delta Victor Yanke Victor for me KD6VYV. If they hear you they will repeat your callsign and give you a reference number. They change channels between the four randomly. So you wont know what channel they are listening to even though you hear them on 145.550! They do this to get rid of the huge pileups they would get if everyone was trying to transmit on the same freq. All versions should support the KCT/T. I have been running this combo for a long time. For the newest version of satelite.drv, you can ftp from me at: ftp.teleport.com/pub/users/n7ryw I will put it there as a seperate file as soon as I am done with this. You may want to update other Wisp files, too, as I suspect you have a very old version. Tell me which versions you have first, as there are some other things that need to be done depending on the versions you have. You can find this info from GSC in the Help...About box. Be sure to write down all of the program names and versions. Mail the info to me at n7ryw@teleport.com ------------------------------ Date: 10 Nov 1994 20:45:38 GMT From: aranders@kosepc01.delcoelect.com (Alan Anderson) References , <784172466snz@myth.demon.co.uk> Reply-To: aranders@kosepc01.delcoelect.com (Alan Anderson) Subject: Re: Wanted: Info on geeking at sea via satellite zeus@myth.demon.co.uk (Mike Cowgill) writes: >Two way data via Inmarsat is *very* expensive.
